For this activity, we want you to take charge! This is your chance

to host a careers session all about careers in the water industry.

You will also have the opportunity to virtually meet some Young

Water Professionals who will share their stories.

HOW IT WORKS

STEP 1.

With your EcoMarines crew, discuss and research different water careers. Perhaps you can meet with your schools guidance counselor to help with your research!

STEP 2.

Watch the videos below!

A few wonderful people from the Young Water Professionals group have taken the time to answer some questions about their careers within the water industry. You can watch the videos that interest your EcoMarines crew OR why not watch all?

STEP 3.

It's time to prepare your Water Careers Workshop! With your EcoMarines crew, get all your research together to present information on working in the water industry.

Here are some important points you should cover in your workshop:

  1. You do not need a university degree

  2. Follow your passion

  3. It is ok to change your mind

You could also have an accompanying PowerPoint presentation.

STEP 4.

Advertise your workshop!

Maybe you can put an ad in your school's newsletter or talk about your workshop during a school assembly. Make sure to invite your teachers and guidance counselor to the workshop.

Your workshop could be during a lunchtime, or after school!

STEP 5.

Host your workshop! You can even share one of the amazing Young Water

Professionals videos during your workshop.

Afterwards, survey the students that attended your workshop. Did they enjoy it?

How did it influence their position in careers in water? What worked or what

could be improved about the workshop?

Make sure you write down the feedback you received. We would love to know

how your workshop went. Send us your 'workshop Minutes' and include points

on how your workshop went, what worked well and what you could improve on.
