EcoMarines Charity Dinner
Tangalooma EcoMarines is a Brisbane based charity focused on the protection of Moreton Bay. Our mission is to inspire a community of environmental heroes. Tangalooma EcoMarines, with the support of Tangalooma Island Resort, Urban Utilities, Port of Brisbane, Cleanaway and Riverlife, provides free environmental education programs across Southeast Queensland.
Tangalooma EcoMarines offers the following programs:
• Early Learning Program (200 centres)
• Primary School Program (35 schools)
• Secondary School Program (5 schools)
• Corporate Program (80 volunteers per year)
Primary and secondary schools participating in Tangalooma EcoMarines appoint 4 students as ‘EcoMarines ambassadors’ whose responsibility it is to lead environmental initiatives within their school and community to protect local waterways and the health of Moreton Bay. Tangalooma EcoMarines provide schools with all activities, events, free t-shirts for ambassadors and school assembly talks.
EcoMarines ambassadors make an enormous difference influencing their schools and local communities to take action reducing litter ending up in Moreton Bay. Ambassadors acquire skills including leadership, communication, self-confidence, and the ability to create positive change.
